Boxes with Removable Tops

Gold paisley brocade box

This footed box is covered in white and gold brocade inside and out. The top features a loop of gold ribbon for a pull.

Blue Bunny print with flowers

This Japanese paper is a top-down look at white bunnies with green ears. The glass lampwork bead in a dark red to match the bunnies' eyes was handmade by Karolen Deupree of Bead Abundant, Sedona, AZ.

Mums on cocoa, Japanese paper

This chiyogami printed Japanese paper has cream and putty colored mums on a light cocoa brown background. The bead, by Karolen Deupree of Bead Abundant, Sedona, AZ, highlights the reddish tone of the cocoa brown and the creams of the mums.

Hand-painted paste paper, white and silver

This paste paper was painted by Susan Kristofferson of Calgary, Alberta, Canada and has silver paint on white with flecks of gold. The bead, by Karolen Deupree of Bead Abundant, Sedona, AZ, is white glass with silver sparkles swirled through it.

Book-style box - Blue, purple and gold

Box with spine and bottom in blue-purple bookcloth; lid, sides and inside in Indian blockprint paper with blue purple stripes and gold "feathers" on a lighter blue-purple background.

Book-style box - Pink heart-stamped paste paper

The paste paper on this box was made by Susan Kristofferson of Calgary, Alberta, Canada and features hearts stamped into the paint and silver micro-glitter sprinkled on it. The spine is a dark pink/mauve Japanese silk, and the ribbon is hand-dyed pink/pale mauve silk.

Red lacquered box with Japanese paper collage top

The box itself is a cigar box from the local smoke shop; its red paint is original. The top has been covered by a collage of red-dominant Japanese chiyogami papers patched with sewing-machine-made feather stitches in gold thread. The entire top piece is edged with German gold scrap border pieces. Inside, the natural wood not stamped with the cigar company's name has been left natural; the inside bottom and lid where the name was stamped into the wood has been covered with a matching Japanese paper (not collaged or sewn). The box still smells like cigars, in case that is a problem for you. A stunning box!

Black cigar box with Japanese paper collage top and sides

The box itself is a cigar box from the local smoke shop; its black paint is original. The top has been covered by a collage of black-dominant Japanese chiyogami papers patched like a Victorian crazy quilt with sewing-machine-made feather stitches in gold thread. All of the paper pieces are edged with German gold scrap border pieces. The box still smells like cigars, in case that is a problem for you. A stunning box!

Photo Storage Box

This large "shoebox" style photo storage box was purchased blank at a craft supply store and decorated with vintage photographs, including some tintypes, and pieces of antique cotton lace trim. The box has a place for an identifying label on the front and contains file separators for organizing 4 by 6 photos.

This box is a supersized photobox from a craft supply store which has been collaged with vintage photographs, including a tintype.

The box contains separators and index cards for photos up to 5 by 7 inches.

This natural brown file box was purchased at a craft supply store and collaged with vintage letters, envelopes, stamps, and German Victorian scrap angels, along with bits of ephemera.

Small Collaged Tins
Decorated Altoids® tins, mostly. They are perfect for holding gift cards as well as paper clips at one's desk or jewelry or any small items. All are unique, one-of-a-kind and are decorated with a combination of vintage and contemporary ephemera and three-dimensional objects such as charms, coins, bits of china or buttons.

Origami Boxes
Made from reinforced paper, these boxes have a heavy cardboard bottom and lid and are quite strong. They measure 3" square on the bottom, and the opening is 3" square at the top rotated 45°. The lid is 3.5" and has a decorative bead in coordinating colors or design.

Many of the beads are hand-made lampwork beads from various bead artists.
