HOSTESS BOOKS

A Hostess Book is a book for a host or hostess to record the details of dinner parties. Whether you entertain a lot or infrequently, this book will make sure you don't serve the same meal to the same people or seat the same people next to each other. It gives you a place to record the occasion, the meal, the guests, the wines, and any other memorable events.

Our hostess books are 7" wide, 8 1/2" tall and have space for thirty events. Printed on acid-free paper, the bindings feature some of our most beautiful papers. Below are some we have made, but we can make one in any of our special papers. Price $50

The books above have a sewn binding and hard spine like regular bound book; they have a ribbon place mark in a coordinating color. The books below are made differently. The pages are the same, but the cover is tied over the pages with ribbons which pass around the middle of the book and through the spine to tie in a knot or bow, the same way our wedding journals and ribbon-tied albums and guestbooks are made. The photos below show this structure.
This book is covered in Japanese block print paper in bright red and orange, and the ribbons are red and black.

CARDS

Victorian Christmas tunnel card

Look through three layers of this card, cut out in the center, to view a Victorian Christmas scene on the back panel. The first and second panels show children and their parents coming to the party. The third panel shows party-goers in full swing, including a boy waving an American flag. The card flattens for mailing, but the layers pull open for standing the card on a table or mantle. Printed on white or parchment cardstock. All cut by hand.
